What a WhyTrek trip is
A trip is not simply a longer hike. It is a group that knows one another after two days, a rhythm that settles in and a tiredness that becomes enjoyable. Days involve between four and six hours of walking, with a lighter pack whenever the accommodation allows, and every evening is spent somewhere chosen for what surrounds it rather than for its comfort.
What level is needed
Regular activity is enough, without being an athlete. Anyone who can manage a three or four hour outing without thinking about it is ready for most of the trips on offer. The GR20 is the exception and calls for genuine preparation. When the time is not right yet, you will be told so clearly before booking.
Carrying, accommodation, meals
The details vary from one trip to the next and appear on each destination page. As a general rule, everyone carries their own kit for the day, accommodation is booked in advance and evening meals are taken on site. The full programme and the kit list are sent to you when you book.
Small groups, flexible dates
Trips run in small groups, which makes it possible to adapt the pace and change the route when the weather demands it. Dates are agreed with participants rather than imposed by a calendar. The availability you send through the contact form is the starting point.
