Rare first-hand experience
From the Swiss Alps to the volcanoes of Chile, by way of the Burmese jungle, our founder has hiked on four continents and covered tens of thousands of kilometres. That knowledge of the ground, of the mountains and of their wildlife and plant life sits at the heart of every WhyTrek outing.

Julien Callet, founder
WhyTrek was founded by Julien Callet. On becoming a young parent, he wanted to pass on a love of nature and an understanding of the environment. That conviction led him to train for several years, then to set out in 2022 to become a qualified Mountain Leader. He personally leads the outings, including the RandoSpores devoted to mycology.
